Local Educational Foundation awarded $11,764 in grants to county teachers as part of its 2002-2003 "Grants for Great Ideas" project. Nearly 1,900 students from
eight schools will benefit from the grants, which were awarded to 31 teachers
who came up with creative ideas and ways to teach their normal curriculum.
"I Can Author A Children's Math Book grant received
$1,486.02. The project goal was for student to
learn mathematical concepts while learning to value
math. They learned literary techniques and the
value of literature in connection with other disciplines.
They learned illustration techniques and applications
of art. The project commulated with sharing their
projects and this knowledge with younger students.
